The Rotary Clubs of Rugby have been presenting yet more cheque donations following on from the towns Rotary Spring Fair and this time the sum of £75 to the Rugby Gardeners Guild.

Mark Fuber of the Rotary Club of Rugby presented the cheque to Keith Foster Chair of the Guild.Mark commented "We all enjoyed the day at the Spring Fair and encouraged well over 100 children to plant a sunflower seed. Hopefully most of them germinated, we have given a cup to the child who grew the tallest flower, he was only four years old. We are very grateful for the cheque from the Rotary Clubs, and intend to use the money to increase the number of hanging baskets in the town which we sponsor. There is no doubt that the floral displays in Rugby add a great deal to people's enjoyment of the town."

The Guild has been running now for 10 years and was the brainchild of Jeff Bernhard and Keith Foster we have over 130 members. There is a monthly meeting on the third Tuesday at Thornfield where they have a speaker. The Guild also run outings to various gardens around the country and for the last five years have had a three day garden visiting holiday. The Guild support rugby in Bloom, three members are judges for this competition and sponsor hanging baskets around the town.
